August in Italy has been likened to hell, an oven, a sauna and every other simile that suggests it’s just too hot-don’t go! After the washout of a summer we’d been having, we figured anything would be better than enduring another week of torrential rain and thunderstorms. I decided that we’d embark on a tour of Italy. Rent a car in
that heat? I know it sounds mad, but that’s what air conditioning was invented for! With enough luggage to last for a month, we boarded our “no frills” flight. Talk about baggage charges!!! I digress, anyway what we shelled out on two suitcases too many, we saved on our
Pisa car hire. We booked our car rental with
Argus Car Hire and got a great deal on a little Fiat. We paid a small deposit and the rest on arrival at the Pisa car hire pick-up desk. We packed up the car with all of our luggage, it was a little cramped I have to admit. (I actually could have gotten a full-size car for the same price, according to the
Argus Blog).
Renting a car in Pisa allowed us to see a whole lot more than we would have been able to experience otherwise. Not only did we get to visit the famous Leaning Tower of Pisa, but we also had access to many more attractions. From sleepy little villages to day-trips to Siena, we really made the most of our trip to Italy. The weather was more than bearable not to mention the fantastic food!
