A True Taste of Italy with Italy Car Hire

"When the moon hits your eyes like a sweet pizza pie that's amore!" We couldn't pass a touristy ristorante or pizzeria in Florence without a blast of Dean Martin's dulcet tones. In terms of eating out Florence was nothing like I'd expected, it was all so over-priced and I couldn't find anything that said "authentic Italian cuisine". Thankfully we'd rented a car so we were free to find our own version of what the local tourist industry wanted us to believe. We packed up the car at 11am and made our way past the madding crowds of the city centre. We stumbled upon a few small trattorias in the Tuscan hills. Now this was Italy. The pasta was fresh (not frozen), the pizzas were stone-baked (again not frozen) and the waiting staff seemed to be genuinely hospitable. With our bellies full, we headed back to the hills to discover the watercoloured landscapes and tunble-down castles and forts. There were some amazing picture-postcard views to be had here and we certainly ran up the memory card with shots of rolling farmland, sun-dappled vineyards and time-wizened olive groves. Had we not booked our Florence car hire, we would have been at the mercy of local guided tours with their scheduled stops and boring voice-overs. Argus Car Hire found us a fantastic deal. We only had to pay a small deposit to reserve our car too!
